"Unlocking Abilities"

Participants in our Branch Out Dance & Movement Program learn choreography and perform at recitals and community events. The class is taught by an Occupational Therapist and a Special Education Teacher. Children work on motor skills and social skills while they are dancing & having fun!

OUR STORY

A few years ago we started a program called “Branch Out Dance”, a dance & movement class for children with special needs.  As we saw the impact that these classes had on the children and their families, we wanted to find a way to reach more children, but we didn't know how.

During the course of our dance classes, we sent home videos each week for the children to practice with at home. These videos also allowed us to include families who were unable to travel to class but could watch the videos at home to participate. We were blown away by the feedback on these videos. The children in our class benefited from the videos in a way we couldn't have imagined- they were  motivated, engaged and retained the video content in an unbelievable way.
This is when Accessible Activities was created.

Our vision is for Accessible Activities to continue to provide activities that are accessible to children with special needs in a variety of ways. This will include our Branch Out Dance Program as well our newest initiative, Accessible Activities Video Program. This Program will include video content created for individuals of all abilities that will be accessible online. This will help us to reach children with special needs everywhere.

We hope to create a more engaging & accessible world for all.
